Amsterdame emerged in response to Amsterdam’s growing gender gap. Once ranked 9th in global gender equality (2008), the Netherlands has since fallen to 28th. Our mission is to spotlight this silent aggression against women and inspire meaningful change.
A team developed a bold new brand and slogans for the movement and we launched its introduction to the Amsterdam public through a guerrilla-style campaign.
The digital team developed the Amsterdame app to complement the print output. The app features a map that reimagines Amsterdam’s masculine-named canals with feminine counterparts, paired with fun facts about each area. It also serves as a platform for influential female speakers to share their wisdom and solidarity through blogs and live speeches.
As a result, Amsterdame received significant recognition and praise for its impactful movement, while also being a fun and engaging project to participate in.
